Fluidized therapy dry heat is covered as an acceptable alternative heat modality for treating acute or subacute traumatic or nontraumatic musculoskeletal disorders affecting the extremities. The policy limits coverage to extremity musculoskeletal conditions; use for non-extremity regions is not addressed and should be treated as not covered unless other policy states otherwise.
