Billing and Coding: MolDX: Genetic Testing in Heritable Thoracic Aortic Disease

This billing/coding article supplements MolDX LCD L39933 for genetic testing in heritable thoracic aortic disease and specifies billing requirements rather than clinical indications. Only CPT codes 81410, 81411, or 81479 may be billed (one test per patient) with 1 unit of service; the appropriate DEX Z-Code must be entered adjacent to the CPT code in the specified claim fields (Loop 2400/SV101-7 or Box 19 for Part B; SV202-7 or Block 80 for Part A) and the appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnosis code must be selected.
